Volunteer Positions Now Available

An open letter from the BFA Executive board

These are the days you will remember for the rest of your life, these are the good old days.

For over 20 years Bloomington families have worked together to provide meaningful and memorable experiences for their daughters through The Bloomington Fastpitch Association (BFA).

Hundreds of mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers have spent countless hours playing catch, shagging balls, organizing picnic lunches, coaching, working as board members, running tournaments, and performing numerous other tasks that are necessary to keep the organization and its teams on track to achieving its goal; to provide an atmosphere that facilitates fun, skill development, emotional growth, and team work, all which help these young ladies become productive hard working adults.

The cornerstone of the Bloomington Fastpitch Association has been and always will be its volunteers. Without numerous volunteers performing myriad tasks there cannot be a successful thriving program.

Each season BFA graduates its most experienced players and their families. Quite often, it is these families that fulfill the majority of the volunteer roles. As these families move on, it is imperative that other families in the program move to fill these volunteer roles.

The Bloomington Fastpitch Association and its executive board would like to invite each parent involved in the program to consider volunteering some of their time to help us continue to make this one of the premier community girls Fastpitch programs in the state. Each of us has talents and gifts to offer and they are all needed. Any amount of time you can offer is greatly appreciated. Some tasks may be as simple as stuffing envelopes, and other tasks maybe as significant as serving on the executive board. What’s most important is that we all get involved and help with something.

Please contact the BFA President Jason Wendlandt at jasonwendlandt@hotmail.com and let him know that you are willing to help. Even if you aren’t sure what you would like to help with, Jason will work with each individual to determine how the BFA can best use your time and talents.

Volunteers are the only human beings on the face of the earth who reflect this nation's compassion, unselfish caring, patience, and just plain love for one another.Erma Bombeck
